September 2019: New species: possible sighting of Mediterranean Flycatcher in Niger
03 Sep 2019 [ULi]

Mediterranean FlycatcherSince the Mediterranean Flycatcher (Muscicapa tyrrhenica) has recently been split from the Spotted Flycatcher (M. striata), we checked the photos in the WABDaB, and are fairly sure that we found evidence of the occurence of this species in Niger through this observation.

We are of course very happy about this addition to the Nigerien bird fauna, and would also like to warmly encourage our users to keep a look out for this new species.  If you can, please take photos of the front and the back.
